Your forums were full of Intuit employees giving completely opposite advice. Intuit of course jumped on the early bandwagon to justify culling their product range and instead of delaying when the goverments MTD plan was deferred for several years Intuit, for no justifiable reason, have maintained their June 2023 cliff edge (despite inadequate development time being given to QBO).īack in 2021 Intuit delivered nothing but conflicting accounts of what was happening. They were all but shelved completely over 6 months ago but the government. There are no changes to UK tax regulations applying anymore. This type of response is typical of what the UK market has experienced throughout. Hi Georgia C, there is quite a lot of mis-information in your post there I am afraid. If you need any help or have questions, you can reach our UK team for support on 08. We appreciate that it isn't a direct replacement of Desktop and can't be used to view some types of data. Our Data Export Tool was designed to allow customers to continue accessing the data that they need for compliance purposes for up to seven years, to give peace of mind that this will still be available post-discontinuation.

We hope this has provided ample time to migrate your data to an alternate software and we're sorry to hear that your transition to QuickBooks Online wasn't as smooth as we'd like. We first began informing customers of the discontinuation in October 2021, when we shared that we wouldn't be releasing a 2022 edition of QuickBooks Desktop UK. We want to assure you that this decision was made independently after careful consideration of the UK market and changing tax regulations. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the discontinuation of QuickBooks Desktop for UK users. I wish I had invested more time exploring competitors products at the start of all this as my larger clients are really struggling with the huge lack of features in QBO. This will happen in the US as Intuit are doing this for profit (despite the weak alternative reasons given). A great chunk of the UK Accountancy industry are devastated and very angry about this. There will be no facility to reprint invoices for customers etc. We're being given an online tool which will export data but only the reports that Intuit have decided we need. Customer services and any sense of care over the massive cost and upheaval has been shocking. It will apparently not open at all and I've heard of legal cases being formed against Intuit for preventing people for accessing their data. The time frames Intuit provided on this were totally inadequate and they're not even letting us have read only access to our QBD program from 1st July. The UK version of QBO also lacks a few features available in the US as i understand it like customer based tax codes and price levels so we're doubly whacked by this. Most are going QBO with integrations but it is clunky and doesn't solve all issues. This has caused absolute mayhem with no contenders really coming forward to replace it. Desktop is being discontinued in the UK from the end of June 2023.
